previous experience

Sarah taught recorder and AMV (introduction to music) at the Muziekvereniging Constantia in Werkhoven, Utrecht, from 2011-2013. Sarah has also devised and taught recorder workshops with Concertino Muziekonderwijs in Buitenveldert.

During her time in England, Sarah built up experience as a peripatetic winds teacher with county councils in Birmingham and the West Midlands. She also ran music workshops in secondary schools throughout Derbyshire, and worked with Music Mites early years music education in Milton Keynes.

Sarah is an experienced teacher of English folk dance. Her morris dance workshops at FolkWorld get even the most skeptical of teenagers smiling! From 2004 - 2007 she ran an Irish dance class at Birmingham Conservatoire, that regularly performed on tour with Joe Broughton's Folk Ensemble.

In Amsterdam, she has worked since 2007 with Stichting Memorable Momenten; a project providing musical workshops for children aged 0-4, in the trusted environment of their own nursery schools. She was also a pioneer member of their second phase project, where she presents workshops of traditional English music and dance for children aged 4-6.

Since 2008, she has also been a tutor of winds and dance at the acclaimed FolkWorld summer school in Devon. Here young people aged 9-21 participate in putting together an entire folk concert comprising music, dance and song during one week, all learnt and arranged by ear. The course ran for seven consecutive years, from 2008-2014.
